For many years Ward Stroud has been crafting/carving Native American Style Flutes as well as playing/performing Music with them. Eventually this led him to search for a way to create larger extensions of his woodworking/sculpting abilities. Ward says "Working with wood is an honorable way to live... Wood is a living, breathing, loving part of our Earth Mother and one of our greatest relations. By making these larger sculptures I wish to honor the wood in a way that brings its beauty to those who wish to experience the magic of living sculpture."
